Hello Aspirant!

In order to be eligible for the IITs, NITs, GIFTs, the overall percentage in class 12 boards has to be equal to or more than 75%. Failing in Biology will definitely have an effect on your overall percentage, ultimately rendering you ineligible for the above mentioned institutes and also many other institutions which requires the candidate to pass in every subject.

Dear Arib, to be eligible for taking admission on the basis of your JEE Mains score, you should have completed your 12th and pass in all subjects. Lets say you score good in JEE but unfortunately fail in Biology, you will not be termed 12th completed. You cannot take admission that academic year unless you pass in Biology and successfully complete your 12th with the required aggregate against your Category. In short, you have to pass all subjects.
