Hello,
The criteria to get admission happens in a two-way manner.
The admission to NITs is conducted by authority named JoSAA. JoSAA starts registration process by second week of June. If you register for this, you would be added in the JoSAA rank list and authority uses this rank list for admission.
All the participating institutes publish opening and closing ranks in each round of admission. In NITs you have Home State (HS) and Other State (OS) quota. If you do not belong to General, then category-wise rank list is used for admission.

Hello Sanskriti.......hope you're doing good..
First of all congratulations for securing such an appreciable rank in Jee Mains. But it is sorry to say that for admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, the candidates should have secured 75% or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For SC/ST category, the marks to be scored is 65%.
So even if you get selected for admission into any of the NITs, but your application may be rejected simply because of the 12marks.But you may give the improvement exam as conducted by respective boards.
Hope this helps you out..... Feel free to ask your queries....
Best of luck:)
Hii,
The final admission to the NIT's depends on the JEE Mains score as well Category and Intermediate Marks. Your Intermediate marks are low.But you have very good Percentile in JEE. You will definitely get any one of the NIT. If you are from a reserved category then you will get better colleges
