What if one doing his 12th not a regular student but as a private student from up board then he is eligible for vit or not

Yes, the candidate is eligible for viteee examination given that the status of the qualifying exam should be appearing or appeared.

Along with this there are other criteria for admission into vit, which includes that one should qualify the ranks according to the branch which they want to get admitted into. There are more criteria, but for any Indian that is true.
