Who can confer a diploma?

An institute, a polytechnic or even a university can offer a diploma course. There is no need for the institute or the university to be UGC or AICTE approved.



Polytechnics focus on higher study programs. They offer technical degree programs .
Polytechnic is an academic institution just like school, college or university. Polytechnics may be Government or Private.

Polytechnic is a diploma course focused on delivering technical education to students which can help them grab good jobs, it differs from BTech as it is a diploma course whereas Btech is a degree course.
It's fee structure is lesser compared to Btech and it is mostly two or three year programme.
