CAT ( Common Admission Test) is the most popular national level management entrance exam conducted for admission into 20 IIM'S and more than 100 B-Shools across India.it is conducted in the last week of November and its results are declared in the first week of January ,this exam is a computer-based test consisting of 100 mcq and some TITA questions it is held for 3 hours and is conducted in 2 slot morning and afternoon slot Around 2.5 lakhs MBA aspirants appear for this test every year.
Common Admission test consist of 3 sections Quantitative Ability(QA) Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation(DILR) Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. The shortlisting is done according to the Cutoffs released every year, after that the shortlisted candidate is called for further selection rounds i.e Group Discussion (GD) or Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview(PI). The candidate who clear all the rounds get admission into IIM's

Eligibility Criteria- A candidate is eligible to seat in this exam if he/she holds a Bachelor's degree with atlest 50% marks or equivalent
Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Differently Abled category must have at least 45% marks or equivalent
Candidate in Final year of a bachelors degree is also eligible to seat in CAT

CAT or Common Admission Test, the most popular national level management entrance exam will be conducted by Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode for admission to 20 IIMs and more than 100 B-schools across India. Its score is universally accepted by all the B schools of India except the Symbiosis group of colleges and ISB.
Advantages:
- Universally accepted
- Only score other that GMAT if you have to get into IIMs
- If you prepare for CAT, you can crack other exams easily.
Disadvantages:
- Too tough. There are other ways to get top colleges through easier exams like SNAP for Symbiosis, CMAT, NMAT, XAT(difficulty similar to CAT)
- High competition level
- Unpredictable
