These are some of the books which can be referred for ACET entrance examination.

It opens a wide door of opportunities if student  does Actuarial Science after completing 12th standard along with his/her undergraduate studies. This doesn't mean that a student cannot do another time. But if done early it helps a lot.

Actuaries is for the students who have interest in Mathematics, Statistics, Numbers, have problem solving skills, business awareness and other such similar things. Actuaries estimate, manage and advise on financial risks. They also consider the factors due to which a capital of a company or an organisation can go down and find ways to minimize negative effects of those factors. This field is huge and has vast opportunities if studied well. Now as I said before, any person from any field can simultaenously do Acturial Science along with undergraduate oor graduate studies. The catch is if a student is suppose from Arts field or any other field which doesn't include Mathematics and Statistics as subjects then it becomes a bit difficult for the student to cope up with 2 major fields. It is advantageous if a student chooses such a field in which mathematics and/or statistics are included. Now to become an Actuary a student has to clear ACET Exam. If selected he/she has to clear 14 Exams conducted by IAI. The total number of papers are divided into 4 stages :-Stage 1 :- Core Techinical (CT) or Core Principles (CP) comprises of 3 modules :- Actuarial Statistics, Actuarial Mathematics and Business.Stage 2 :- Core Practices (CP) including 3 main modules :- Actuarial Practices, Modelling Practice and Communication Practice.Stage 3 :- Specialist Technical (ST) also known as Specialist rRinciples comprises of Health and Care, Life Insurance, Pensions, Enterprise Risk Management, etc.Stage 4 :- Specialist Applications (SA) consist of Investment, Finance, General Insurance, etc.(Books and study material are provided by the Institute)This is the basic idea of the papers that are to be given after qualifying ACET and taking admission in IAI. That is IAI offers correspondence course for being an Actuary. After certain number of papers job opportunities come to those who perform well. There is no definite duration for it because if a student fails in a certain paper that he/she has to reappear for it. Some give up. Some complete the course with flying colours. As I said before this field has vast scope. An Actuary gets an opportunity to work in sectors like health insurance, vechile insurance, employee retirement, pension & benefits firms, managerial position, as a consultant and adviser in companines in areas like taxation, risk managemnt, investments,  etc.Other than IAI there are other institutes which give admission either on the basis of entrance examination conducted by them or on the basis of marks scored in the required examination. Some of the colleges are :- DS Actuarial Education Services ; Shree Vile Parle Kelavani Mandals Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies ; Tolani Institute of Management Studies.Choose your career wisely and according to where your interest lies as it will play an important role in your life.  Thank You.
