AFCAT is a national-level exam conducted by IAF (Indian Air Force). It stands for Air Force Common Admission Test and the eligibility criteria of AFCAT is graduation with (PCM in 10+2). Candidates from commerce or other background can also apply but only for non-technical posts. AFCAT is conducted twice every year.
AFCAT is conducted in two-stages - Online Test and AFSB Interview (Air Force Selection Board).
Candidates opting for ground duty technical branch have to appear for an additional test, EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test)
According to the AFCAT exam pattern , the question paper consists of 100 questions of 3 marks each with negative marking of 1 mark. The time duration is 3 hours.
The syllabus of AFCAT is based on -
General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test
The process to join IAF through AFCAT is as follows:
1. Fill the online application form of AFCAT and pay the fees.
2. Download the AFCAT admit card .
3. Appear for the online test. If you qualify the test you will be invited for the AFSB (Interview Round). After clearing the AFSB you will have to clear the medical round. If you qualify all these stages you will have to go through the training process post which you will be recruited for the vacant positions.
