what is affidavit? why is it given?
Hey,
An affidavit is a sworn statement in written form especially under oath before a person has authority to administer an oath. This affidavit must satisfy legal requirements to be considered. The affidavit includes:
a commencement
a clause
signatures of the officer and person who takes the oath.
They prepare an affidavit for use with the context of litigation which also may include identifying the venue.
Hope this is helpful.
Hello,
In very simple terms an affidavit is a written statement or document made by a person under an oath or affirmation which is authorized by a person who is authorized to do so by law.
The purpose of an affidavit is to formally legitimize a claim.
Regarding your previous query you posted concerned about different spelling of surname in class X and Class XII TC.
If it is not possible for you to get the documents corrected due to any reason, you can get an affidavit made stating that the person who's complete name are mentioned in the TC of Class X and Class XII are same. You must get it signed by a competent authority.
Now this affidavit would act as a legal document through which you can avoid any problem later regarding different surnames.
