Under All India quota 15% of available seats (except Jammu Kashmir) in every government medical college are reserved for admission through All India Counselling.
Under state quota 85% of available seats are reserved in state level colleges for admission only to home state candidates in which is will be conducted through state counseling authority.

In AIQ 15% are the seats reserved for MBBS/BDS courses for different categories irrespective of the fact whether they are private or government medical institute and seat allotment is done on the basis of merit in NEET exam and takes place through centralized couselling which is counducted by Medical Council Committee) .Candidates from J&K,telangana and andhra pradesh are not eligible for AIQ centralized counselling if they want they have to fufill other requirements. In State quota in each state of india 85% of the total seats (government) are reserved for the candidates of that particular states.Students from other states can also apply to another state counselling.Each state has different eligibility,policies,laws and rules and separate reservation for defence and other categories.You have to apply separately for the state counselling by registering on state's website.
