What is average placement of CUSAT for CSE IT branch? Give answers in data. Also is it better than vit Vellore
Hello Vishal,
Placements are better compared to that of other branches when you are from CS, IT or ECE branch, be it from any college.
In CUSAT, almost 60 to 70% of the CS, IT branch are offered placements with good packages as many software firms from Bangalore and Chennai visit the campus for recruitment with an average package of 8 to 9 lakhs per annum.
These are some placement data of CUSAT for the academic year 2018-19:
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) students have bagged jobs with lucrative pay packets during placements for the 2018-19 academic year. Over 75 recruiters have visited the campus and have offered around 450 students jobs with decent packages.
Six students have been placed in a leading IT company with an annual salary package of `16 lakh. Five students have been offered jobs by ONGC and they will be paid 18 lakhs per annum. Companies like CISCO, Amazon, Nissan Digital, IBM, TCS, Infosys and Tata have made been the major recruiters for the academic year.
Now coming to VIT, the placements for CSE branch is at par with the CSE department of any top NIT.
According to the placement stats of CUSAT during the academic year 2018-19:
The most lucrative job offers were made by the three IT companies Microsoft, DE Shaw & Co. and PayPal. Microsoft made the highest offer of ₹39 lakh a year to eight students, DE Shaw made an offer of ₹33 lakh a year to one student, while PayPal offered ₹21.5 lakh a year to seven students.
A total of 487 companies had visited the campus last year and more than 500 companies are expected to visit VIT for recruitment. Around 70+ students have crossed the 9 LPA mark.
The point lies in the fact that very few students qualify the interviews of top-notch companies and end up with good jobs. Sometimes even good programmers don’t have a good CGPA and those who have are unable to perform well in interviews due to lack of programming skills or you may say communication skills. Still, there are a few exceptional students who crack the interview and get placed in good companies. So to sum up, placements totally depends upon your skills and attitude. If you are good enough to outshine others then definitely you’ll get a chance to work with the best of companies.
Hope the comparison helps.
Thank you and all the best!
