Hii

Both MBA and M.Tech offers good placement and well-settled career options. While MBA prepares you to enter non-technical fields,M.Tech gives you the opportunity to satiate your passion for Technology.Though it is a general perception that M.Tech doesn't provide profitable careers but M.tech graduates are most sought-after.Moreover, our country needs M.Tech graduates who can contribute in research projects.

Mechanical engineering is a very challenging field and is one of the oldest core branches of engineering, Almost everything that we see around us is a gift of mechanical engineering. Now coming to your question , I would say that there are lots of opportunities open to you after BTech in mechanical engineering. I would like to explain the various main opportunities open to you in the following :-

  • MTech - Now since you have your undergraduate degree in Mechanical engineering , I would say that these are the following major domains of  mechanical engineering where you can do your masters in . They are Robotics , Design , Thermal , Manufacturing , Automotive engineering, Aerospace engineering . These are the major domains where you can do your masters in and can get absorbed in the research and development sector in major industries or may even enter the teaching line and teach as a professor in universities and colleges. If you are planning to do your Masters in India , you can appear for the GATE exam to be able to do your Masters in IITS and NITs. If you are palnning to do your Masters abroad , you have to give the GRE exam along with IELTS/TOEFL.
  • MBA- Now if you feel that you have gained enough technical knowledge and now want to shift towards management roles , then you should consider taking up MBA. For doing an MBA in India , you have to take the CAT Exam for taking admission in the top IIMs/ IITs . You can also give other top B school entrance exams as well for getting admission in other top B schools in our country like XAT, SNAP, NMAT etc. Now if you plan to do your MBA abroad , you need a minimum of two years of work experience and need to give the GMAT exam along with the TOEFL/IELTS exam. You can take up the following major specializations in your MBA namely Finance , Marketing and Human Resources .

M.Tech vs MBA Both are specialised degrees and have value in their respective grounds. Both M.Tech and MBA provide excellent career options and have gained importance over the time. M.Tech or MBA is always an additional advantage to an engineer whether it is in terms of experience, knowledge or seniority. Whether it be an IT, manufacturing, or R&D driven establishment, there would be requirements for both M.Tech s and MBA s.
The M.Techs would be more of a subject matter specialist, whereas the

Hello Nee

As per the data available and suggestions taken I would say that go for M.tech in any one of the field that you are interested in. During your B.tch you must have come to know about your interest or which  area of yours is better. That would help you in specialization:

Few of the M.tech PG course afater UG in mechanical would be

1) Aerospace

2) Advance Manufacturing

3) Robotics

4)Mechatronics

5) Nanotechnology

Hence, I would suggest uou to do M.tech for better and vast understanding in a specific field. For more details visit:
