Hey, hope you are doing well!

Any degree is more beneficial if done in honours than if done in pass. Honours means a specialisation in a particular subject amongst all the other subjects. Infact if you go for honours, you have a higher cut off to reach compared to the general/pass course students. Sometimes you even have extra subjects compared to the pass course students.

In pass course the students just need to get the passing marks in all subjects but in honours you need to get a certain percentage of marks in honours papers and in aggregate also you need to get a certain percentage. You can't 'just' pass, you have to pass as well as score a certain percentage.

So, BSc in biotechnology honours is better than any pass course in Biotechnology.

Because if you are bound to study and score more than other students, eventually you will be getting more value also.

Honours is always more beneficial and of more value than pass.

Hello Aspirant,
In B.Tech Biotechnology you will learn about other branches of engineering also in your first year whereas in B.Sc biotechnology you will directly learn about your core subjects. Of course you will also get exposure about other science subjects but your course will have maximum papers from your honours paper. In B.Tech biotechnology the main subjects start from second year and you will have a lot of laboratory work and more subjects. Biochemistry would be an important paper and you will also have to deal with many Differential equations. On the contrary in B.Sc biotechnology you will have a relaxed schedule and less laboratory work as compared to B.Tech. In B.Tech, application of whatever is being taught is given more inportance while in B.Sc biotechnology theoretical part is given more importance. No matter you study B.Sc or B.Tech if someone wants to make a career in this field you have to study further. B.Sc is pure science while
B.Tech is Technology oriented.
Hope it helps.. All the best!!!
