Hi Shubham!

Blood is a mixture of both solid and liquid. Solid is Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and Platelets. The liquid portion contains most of Plasma and the others are water, salts and proteins.

Functions:

  1. Provides Oxygen to body's cells and removes Carbon dioxide.
  2. Transports Nutrients and Harmones.
  3. Regulates body temperature.
  4. Platelets clot at the place of injury to stop the flow of blood.
  5. Brings waste products to kidney and livers.

Hello aspirant,

Blood is the fluid of the body found in humans as well as other animals that delivers essential substances like nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transports waste products collected due to metabolism away from the cells. It supplies oxygen to the tissues, supplies essential nutrients and other substances like glucose, amino acids and fatty acids. It removes excess yet unnecessary waste such as carbon dioxide, lactic acid and urea. It provides immunological functions such as production and circulation of WBCs, helps in coagulation, helps in transport of hormones, thus acting as the function of messenger. It regulates body temperature and hydraulic functions.

Hope, it helps you.

Blood is the life-maintaining fluid that circulates through the entire body. It acts as a connecting bridge for all the body parts and supply oxygen to all organs of the body and take deoxygenated blood away from that , towards heart, where it gets purified again. This cycle is continuous.

Blood carries the following to the body tissues:

  • Nourishment

  • Electrolytes

  • Hormones

  • Vitamins

  • Antibodies

  • Heat

  • Oxygen

  • Immune cells (cells that fight infection)

Blood carries the following away from the body tissues:

    • Waste matter
