Hello aspirant,

Did you mean bond energy?

If it's so, then bond energy means the amount of energy required to break one mole of a particular bond. It's the average value of the gas phase bond dissociation energy for all bonds of one type within the same chemical species.

Factors affecting are-

  • Size of the atom- The size of the atom is directly proportional to the bond length, hence the bond energy
  • Greater is the multiplicity of the bond, greater is its bond energy.

Applications are-

  • To determine the enthalpy of the reaction.
  • To determine the enthalpies of formation of compounds.
  • To determine the resonating energy.

hope, this helps you.
