Greetings Gopal!
Hope you're doing great.
PG form AFMC is like a dream come true for aspirants who want to serve the Army as a medical officer. After clearing the entrance examination and getting enrolled in PG course, the candidate needs to sign a mandatory liability bond of 25-29 lacs(Depending on the type of specialization) . Although, one has to pay the requisite amount only when the candidate wishes not to continue service in the Army.
In the bond, it's mentioned that the candidate needs to serve the Army for a minimum duration of 7 years from the time of commission. However, the commission is planning to increase the liability amount to 2 crores. According to news, a parliamentary panel has said that doctors who want to quit the military after being trained at the Pune-based Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) should pay an exit bond of up to Rs 2 crores. This is yet to confirm. Do check out the official website to avoid ambiguity.
