Hello aspirant!

CA, i.e., chartered accountant is a professional accountant who is qualified to deal with accounting related activities. He/she is responsible for submitting tax returns, preparing financial reports, implementing accounting systems, etc.

Under the new scheme of CA examination, the course is divided into three stages:

> CA foundation: this is an entrance test to start your CA journey. The course is divided into 4 papers-

1. Paper 1 - Accountancy

2. Paper 2 - Business law and English

3. Paper 3 - Mathematics, Statistics and Logical reasoning

4. Paper 4 - Economics and Business commercial knowledge

To clear this stage, a student must score atleast 40 marks in each paper amd the aggregate score shouldn't be less than 200.

Students who have passed their class 12 board examinations are eligible to appear in this exam.There is no age limit. The paper is available in 2 mediums, english and hindi medium.

To appear in CA foundation you have to register yourself on the official site, i.e., www.icai.org .

> CA intermediate - this is the second stage. Only candidates who've passed CA foundation are eligible to appear in these exams. The course is divided into 2 groups:-

Group 1-

1. Paper 1 - Accountancy

2. Paper 2 - Corporate and other laws

3. Paper 3 - Cost and management accounting

4. Paper 4 - Taxation

Group 2 -

5. Paper 5 - Advanced accounting

6. Paper 6 - Auditing and Assurance

7. Paper 7 - Enterprise information systems and strategic management

8. Paper 8 - Financial management and economics for finance

A student need to score atleast 40 marks in each paper and aggregate marks should be 400 for both groups.

You need to register for CA inter separately.

> CA final - this is the last stage. A student has to do an articleship/internship of 2 years before appearing in CA final exams. The students who have cleared CA inter are eligible to appear in CA final exams. The following subjects form the course of CA final:-

1. Paper 1 - Financial reporting

2. Paper 2 - Strategic financial management

3. Paper 3 - Advanced auditing and Professional Ethics

4. Paper 4 - Corporate and economic laws

5. Paper 5 - Strategic Cost management and performance evaluation

6. Paper 6A - Risk management

Paper 6B - Financial services and capital markets

Paper 6C - International taxation

Paper 6D - Economic laws

Paper 6E - Global financial reporting standards

Paper 6F - Multidisciplinary case study

7. Paper 7 - Direct tax laws and international taxation

8. Paper 8 - Indirect tax laws

To clear CA final, the candidates are required to score atleast 40 marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all the papers of that group.
