Hey there buddy,the Category Rank is the rank you have scored in your particular category, be it General or OBC or ST or SC or Physically Handicapped. This is important because every category has reservations pertaining to it and if you have a good category rank, you can get better colleges even if you are behind in your overall ranking, good luck
