Here you have asked about cell. But you didn't mentioned which type of cell you are asking about. In case of Biology there are cells like Red Blood cells , Nerve cells etc. In physical science we have Electrochemical cells etc. So I would like to request you to get back to career360.com (//career360.com) with more specifics regarding your question like which subject you are talking about and what kind of cell you are talking about all that , so that we can understand what you really want to know and we can provide you the proper answer.

Have a great eve!

Hello,

Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things. The human body is composed of trillions of cells. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions.

Cells have many parts, each with a different function

  • Cytoplasm
  • Cytoskeleton
  • Endoplasmic reticulum (ER)
  • Golgi apparatus
  • Lysosomes and peroxisomes
  • Mitochondria
  • Plasma membrane
  • Ribosomes

Thank you.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. Cells can be described as the building block of all living things. The human body is made of trillion of cells. The functions of cells are :

  1. they provide structure of the body
  2. they take nutrients from the food in the body.
  3. they convert the nutrients into energy.
  4. they are responsible for metabolic absorption.
  5. they execute respiration in the body.
  6. they provide molecular transport.
  7. cells are responsible for reproduction.

I am also sharing a link with you which has elaborated definition and functions. It will help you in understanding the concept better.

Hey!

A cell is the structural and fundamental unit of life. They are the building blocks of living beings. Robert Hooke was the first Biologist who discovered cells.

Functions of cell:

  • Cells provide structure and support to the body of an organism.
  • They provide structure to the body and convert the nutrients taken from the food into energy.
  • Facilitate Growth Through Mitosis (multiplication of cells)
  • Allow Passive and Active Transport
  • Aids in Reproduction
  • The nucleus (major organelle) holds genetic information necessary for reproduction and cell growth.
  • Every cell has one nucleus and membrane-bound organelles in the cytoplasm.
  • Mitochondria, a double membrane-bound organelle is mainly responsible for the energy transactions vital for the survival of the cell.
  • Lysosomes digest unwanted materials in the cell.
  • Endoplasmic reticulum plays a significant role in the internal organisation of the cell by synthesising selective molecules and processing, directing and sorting them to their appropriate locations.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.
