Hey!
You should definitely prep for CAT exam and take it, in case you are aiming for MBA. IIMABC do consider your past academic records. But, most of the new IIMs would just consider your CAT percentile and how good you are in GD and PI round. Plus you have a good score in Undergrad, so you can convince your trajectory of improvement or how you learned from your past mistakes and improved yourself. So, prepare well and ace the best MBA college. Best wishes!
Hi Anuj! Each IIM has different admission criteria which assign separate weightages for the past academic records, including Class 10, 12 and graduation. With your Class 10 & 12 scores, it would be difficult to get shortlisted by the IIM BLACKIS unless you have a really high CAT percentile. But again, your chance would depend on the profiles of fellow applicants. Moreover, apart from IIMs, there are various other B-schools which accept CAT scores and do not consider academic profiles. Hence, you should definitely prepare for CAT and should focus only on preparation at the moment. Rest will definitely fall into place.
Hi Anuj,
Your academic scores make you eligible to apply for CAT exam. To get a call from IIMs, especially old IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Shillong, and Indore, you would need to score a high percentile in the CAT exam (above 85 percentile). New IIMs such as IIM Sambalpur, Nagpur, Jammu, etc. accept CAT score above 75 percentile. There are 20 IIMs offering around 4000 seats.
