It is a highly competitive examination. The candidate needs to fulfill following eligibility criteria:

• The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India,
• Candidates age should be 21 to 32 years
  Relaxation in upper age limit will be provided to the following categories.
  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • Defence Service Personnel – 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen – 5 years
  • ECOs/SSCOs – 5 years
  • PwD – 10 years
• Candidates must have graduation in any discipline. Those who have appeared in their final year degree examination and results are awaited are eligible for the examination.
• Candidates appearing for Civil Service Examination will be provided only six attempts.
  • There is no restriction for SC/ST candidates
  • OBC category candidates are permitted nine attempts.
