Hello,

College cut off is nothing but you can consider it as a parameter or criteria above which you are safe and you can take admission in the college and if you are below the cut-off it's very difficult for you to make into the college.

Cut offs can be based on your marks. Suppose for college A cut off is 80 marks out of 100 and if you score 92 then you are safe and you can easily take admission in the college, but suppose if a student X scores 62, it won't be easy for him to get admission.

So from above example you see why is it necessary to qualify the cut-off.

Also cut-offs need not be static, they vary every year. Various factors on which college cut-offs depend are as following-

• Number of applicants in entrance examination of college

• question paper difficulty level of entrance examination.

• Score of the candidates in entrance examination of college

• seat matrix

Thank you.
