The KAS prelims Syllabus, as defined in the official rule SRO 103 of 2018, is as follows
Paper I: General Studies (200 Marks)
Current national and international events; India's history and the Indian National Movement;
Geography of India and the World–Physical, Social, and Economic Geography of India and the World;
Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, and Other Aspects of Indian Politics and Governance
Economic and Social Development–Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, and so on; Economic and Social Development–Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, and so on;
Environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change are all general topics that do not require subject specialty.
Paper-II in General Studies (200 Marks)
Interpersonal abilities, including communication skills; logical reasoning and analytical ability; decision-making and problem-solving capacity; general mental ability
Numeracy basics (numbers and their relationships, orders of magnitude, and so on–Class X level), Class X level data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.)
Science in general
