What is dasa
DASA stands for Direct Admission for Students Abroad.
Direct admission of students abroad (DASA) is a Scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India For Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Admissions to Premier Institutions of India (NITs, IIEST, IIITs, SPAs, Central Universities and Other Centrally Funded & Premier Technical Institutes) for Undergraduate programmes in Engineering/Architecture/ Planning and Postgraduate programmes (M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan./M.Des./MURP & MBA) .
Every year, one NIT coordinate for admission process through DASA. The admissions to various UG and PG programmes of premier Institutes of India under the DASA scheme was coordinated by Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur INDIA for the year 2017-18.

Through DASA foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indian (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can take admission in Undergraduate engineering programs. Through DASA candidates can take admission in NITs, IIITs SPAs and other Centrally Funded & Premier Technical Institutes who have foreign based qualifications. There are around 45 participating institutes in DASA. Application form of DASA 2018 is expected to be out in first week of April 2018.
