A university is called "deemed", if it is granted the status, by an Act of a parliament, to be considered EQUIVALENT to any UGC funded university. This deemed university will conduct its own examinations and would award degrees of its own.As for UGC approved Universities ; these are Universities recognized and funded by UGC directly which is the supreme body controlling the Indian education system .The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on the other hand is a statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is responsible for proper planning and development of the technical education and management education system in India. The AICTE accredits postgraduate and graduate programs under specific categories at Indian institutions as per its charter. The All India Management Association (AIMA) is the national apex body of the management profession in India. It Conducts PGDM courses on distance mode unlike AICTE approved colleges.
Hope this helps!
