It varies Institute To Institute. Two Major Differences Are;

  1. In Some Institutions, Textile Engineering is done in some specific Textile Field Specialization Like Spinning, Weaving, Processing, Garments or Knitting. While Textile Technology means All Textile Fileds are studied in 4 Years like Spinning To Garments All Technologies.
  2. Some Other Institutes differentiate it as, Textile Engineering is done in some specific Textile Field Specialization Like Spinning, Weaving, Processing, Garments or Knitting with the focus of Process Flow, Products and Outcomes . While Textile Technology means to study some specific Textile Field Specialization Like Spinning, Weaving, Processing, Garments or Knitting with the focus of Machine Maintenance and Technical Problems of Machines
Textile Technology

About course – Textile engineering is a branch of engineering where the principles of scientific techniques are utilized for manufacturing and development of several varieties of fabric. The main aim of this program is to design and control all aspects of textiles, its raw materials and the finished product. There are many several processes of spinning and fabric-forming stages coupled with the complexities of the finishing and colouration processes to the production of wide ranges of products. A student learns to examine the different groups of fibers that include natural, manufactured, and synthetic fibers. Students also gain good knowledge of various textile fibers. A textile chemist manages the processes of cleaning, dyeing and hence delivering a finished material. These days, textile chemists also learn the art of blending materials.

Textile Engineering

Textile Engineering is about designing and controlling all aspects of fiber, textile & apparel processes, products, and machinery. It includes research & development, manufacturing and merchandising. Textile Engineering combines the principles of engineering with specific knowledge of textile equipment and processes. This knowledge is then implemented for the processing and production of all kinds of textile fabric & yarns from textile fibres. Career paths in this domain include process engineering, R&D, production control, technical sales, quality control and corporate management.
