Hello!

BE is bachelor of engineering, that is when you do Engineering from a university that offers degree in multiple courses and not only Engineering, the degree is called BE. BTech is degree in Engineering done from institute/universities specific for Engineering.

The most obviousdifference betweenthe twoisthat BEisBachelor of Engineering andB Tech isBachelor of Technology. The course materials as well as orientation of these programs are quite dissimilar. While BEisdata orientated,B.Tech isskill orientated.

B.tech course is somewhat more practically intensivethan theBE course which is more theoretical. The difference (which is quite minor) between the two degrees can be understood from their names itself,Engineering Vs. Technology.Engineeringis a "science", dealing more with theoretical concepts & principles;technologydeals more with the application of these theories for practical purposes. But, both B.E. & B.Tech courses offered by various engineering colleges/ institutes, havesimilar curriculummore or less. Both degrees arevalued equallyby prospective employers.

Both these engineering degrees have their own importance in the society. If a student wishes to join a field that is engaged in the manufacturing of hardware, then the B.E. field is more suitable for him. However, if a person wishes to join a field that makes hardware more efficient or attractive by modifying them, then the B.Tech course is more suitable.

Students can choose either of these fields on the basis of their interest, strengths and their future plans. But there are certain universities offering only a degree course in B.E. and some only B.Tech. So, a student may opt a particular degree on the basis of his/her preference for the colleges. At present no degree, B.E. or B.Tech is superior to the other.
