I am considering your question in the context of higher education in India, so my answer is only relevant to India. Now as per your question, I think it would be either B.sc Physics or B.sc Physics(Hons) and not just plain B.sc. The B.Sc course include subjects like physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, zoology, statistics home science etc and you have to choose any one, You can't pursue B.sc without selecting anyone of them. Generally there is a confusion between Bsc(General) and Bsc(Hons), so let me help you in that case.

B.Sc.(General) is generally considered to be the General Bachelor's degree in Science, this course offers expertise in any science subject and also gives a strong foundation of knowledge in various science subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology and other life sciences. Whereas B.Sc.(Hons) aims to provide students with a strong platform for advanced academic or professional pursuits as well as unique theoretical and research skills in a selected science subject. Academically, B.sc(Hons) is considered as a higher standard than B.sc(General) and it is more beneficial in terms of Jobs and Placements. In some of the prestigious university it may be required  to complete (Hons) Course from each student.

Basic eligibility criteria for B.sc course is minimum 50-60% aggregate in 10+2 from the recognized board. It's a 3 year Undergraduate course, You can either pursue B.sc full time or part time depending on your choice from any recognized university.

Hope this information may help you.. All the best.

Hello,

Are you asking the difference between Bsc honors and bsc?

Because there is no plain bsc or bsc without physics

BSc means bachelors in science and the main subjects that come under it are physics, chemistry , biology along with mathematics. You can't do BSc without physics , chemistry and mathematics.

If your question is about difference between Bsc honors and bsc

Then, here is the answer,

B.Sc (Hons) is much more specialized as compared to the B.Sc (General) degree, and academically, B.Sc (Hons) is a more standard degree as compared to B . Sc (general).

B.Sc. physics is a 2 year program which is equivalent to 14 year education, in which there are different options available, in which one can choose physics as major and then choose 2 other subjects , some examples are

1. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Chemistry.
2. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Statistics.
3. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Space Science.
4. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Geology.
5. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Geography.
6. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Applied Psychology/Psychology.
7. Physics, Mathematics A course and Mathematics B. Course.
8. Physics, Statistics and Applied Psychology/Psychology.
9. Physics, Chemistry and Statistics
10. Physics, Mathematics (General) and Computer Studies.
11. Physics, Chemistry and Computer Studies.

And B.Sc. hons physics is a 4 year degree which is equivalent to masters or 16 year education. Major subject is physics and there are 8 semesters in which you study different subjects related to physics and other subjects like maths, computer, english and some subjects related to research and projects.

B.Sc (Gen) is an academic degree, designed to provide the students with foundation knowledge possible for a science-based career. It provides a broad foundation in the sciences, with a special focus on multidisciplinary

B.Sc (Hons ) helps in building an advanced professional or academic career.

If you want to study any one of the main sciences (eg. chemistry, physics, mathematics etc.) in detail, it is advisable to go for a B.Sc (Hons) course. But if you want a more balanced and multi-disciplinary approach, it is better to pursue a B.Sc (General) course for under-graduate studies.

Hope it helps

Good luck!
