hello aspirant,
JEEMAIN is like the gateway to write jee advanced.those who qualify jee advanced with good rank shall avail seat in few of the top PRESTIGIOUS engineering colleges of india which are IITS.and those who cleared jeemain with good rank can fetch a seat in NITS,the top colleges that come under IITS or ISM.then top private engineering and state engineering colleges so on.SO once you clear jeemain or qualify with the minimum cutoff that the NTA sets only then you will be eligible to take jee advanced.jeemain has comparitely easy level of questions than jee advanced.so once you qualify jee main then only you can write jee advanced.patterns of both jeemain and advanced are different.JEEadvanced can be attempted in 2 consecutive years.the syllabus is slightly different.syllabus like:
Topics included from JEE Main but not in JEE Advanced Physics:
ELECTRONIC DEVICES:Semiconductors; semiconductor diode: I-V characteristics in forward and reverse bias; diodes as a rectifier; I-V characteristics of LED, photodiode, solar cell and diode; Zener diode as a voltage regulator. Junction transistor, transistor action, characteristics of a transistor; transistor as an amplifier (common emitter configuration) and Oscillator. Logic gates (OR, AND, NOT, NAND and NOR). Transistor as a switch.
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES : Electromagnetic waves; Characteristics of Electromagnetic Waves; Transverse nature of electromagnetic waves; Electromagnetic spectrum; Applications of Electromagnetic waves
COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS : Electromagnetic waves’ propagation; Amplitude and Frequency Modulation; Bandwidth of signals & transmission medium; Basic elements of a Communication System (Block Diagram only).
topics included in jeeadvanced not in jeemain chemistry:
ELETCROCHEMISTRY:equivalent conductivity
NUCLEAR CHEMISTRY:Radioactivity; Properties of alpha, beta and gamma rays; Kinetics of radioactive decay (decay series excluded), carbon dating; Stability of nuclei with respect to proton-neutron ratio; Brief discussion on fission and fusion reactions.
Topics included in JEE Main but not in JEE Advanced Chemistry:
BIOMOLECULES:Vitamins – Classification and functions; Nucleic acids – Chemical constitution of DNA and RNA
1.CHEMISTRY IN EVERYDAY LIFE:Chemicals in medicines – Analgesics, tranquilizers, antiseptics, disinfectants, antimicrobials, antifertility drugs, antibiotics, antacids, antihistamins – their meaning and common examples. Chemicals in food – Preservatives, artificial sweetening agents – common examples. Cleansing agents – Soaps and detergents, cleansing action
topics included in jeemain but not in jeeadvanced:
.SETS,RELATIONS ANDFUNCTIONS:Sets and their representation; Union, intersection and complement of sets and their algebraic properties; power set; relation, Types of relations, equivalence relations
STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY:Measures of Dispersion; calculation of mean, median. Mode of grouped and ungrouped data calculation of standard deviation, variance and mean deviation for grouped and ungrouped data.
TRIGONOMETRY:Heights and Distances
MATHEMATICAL REASONING:Statements, logical operations and, or, implies, implied by, if and only if. Understanding of tautology, contradiction, converse and contra positive.
hope this helps,
thankyou.
Dear Aspirant
JEE Main and JEE advanced are national level conducted for admission into top engineering colleges.
JEE Advanced is held for admission to 23 various IITs across the country whereas JEE Main is only held for admission to various NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other engineering colleges in the country.
Students can participate in the JEE Main examination for 3 consecutive years
The candidates are only allowed to attempt the examination two times in two consecutive years JEE Advanced is considered to be more difficult than the Main examination as it includes many topics other than the ones from class 11th and 12th, and it also tests the problem-solving skills of the applicants
All the best
This free eBook covers JEE Main important chapters & topics to study just 40% of the syllabus and score up to 100% marks in the examination.
Hi
Difference between JEE mains and JEE advanced is provided below:-

*Through JEE mains admission in NITs ,IIITs, gfti ,CFTIs etc is provided.
* it is conducted by NTA
*It is conducted 4 times a year
*Eligibility criteria says that to be eligible for JEE mains 2021 for BE or Btech you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019 with Physics, mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.
* You can attempt JEE Mains for three consecutive years starting from the year you passed your 12th

JEE ADVANCED
* JEE mains is conducted to provide admission in IITs.
* it is conducted by IITs themselves
* it is conducted only once in a year
* to be eligible you must qualify JEE mains first and also need at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if you belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.
* one has a maximum of two attempts for JEE advanced in 2 consecutive years

Thank you
Hi Aspirant,
JEE advanced is the exam which you can give in order to get admission in IITs and also you need to clear JEE main in order to give JEE advanced. This is just the advanced version of JEE Main. However JEE advanced is much more tougher than the previous JEE main exam and it requires very deep understanding of knowledge. This is the basic difference between the two exams .
Hope it helps!!
