what is difference between opening rand and closing rank in colleges during addmission????? please someone reply.

Hello student,

Opening rank defines the rank at which the first person was admitted in the college in the initial rounds of the counselling procedure.

Whereas, Closing rank indicates the final rank at which all the seats of a particular branch of a particular  college fills up completely.

These terms are mentioned to get a rough idea whether or not a person can get admitted in a college at his/her particular rank.
