Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a national level examination whereas Maharashtra Public Service Commission is state level examination. Candidates who are selected through UPSC are designated as IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS etc. whereas candidates selected through MPSC are designated as Deputy Collector. Hey.

UPSC is Union Public Service Commission and MPSC is Maharashtra Public Service commission.

You apply for Civil services limited only to the state of Maharashtra through MPSC as it is a state level institution whereas you can apply for civil services at a national level as it's a national level organisation. MPSC is for the Maharashtra state government and UPSC is for Government of India.

Best of luck!
