Hello Sunil,

University Grants Commission provides recognition to the universities/colleges in India. It also disburses funds to the universities and college as you can see that the name of the institution itself contains the word 'GRANTS' defining its main function to provide recognition and grants to the universities of India.

While NAAC stands for National Assessment and Accreditation Council, which makes its primary function to assess and accredit higher education Institutions in India in order to help the institutions to continuously improve and grow through an informed review process.

Hope this helps you out, feel free to reach out for more info.

Best wishes for your future.

Hi Sunil, University Grants Commission, UGC is a body which grants all permission and approves a college or university to be setup in India. Whereas National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC accredits the programmes offered based on various parameters like teaching staffs, quality, no of teachers and their experiences and so on. Only the courses which are accredited have a value and also NAAC also accredits colleges as well based on various parameters
