A domicile certificate is essentially a certificate that is issued by the State Government proving that the person having the document has all rights to state in that State or Union Territory.

To obtain a domicile certificate, you can either do it online or offline. For the online procedure, candidates are required to visit their respective state's portals and follow the procedure specified there. For the offline application, the candidate can apply through one of the following authorities,

• Revenue Office
• Collector/ Deputy Collector Office
• SDM Office
• District Magistrate Office
• Mamlatdar Office
• Citizen Service Corners (CSC)
• Registrar/ Sub-Registrar Office

A domicile certificate is considered to be the proof that you are a resident of a particular state for a longer period of time and hence you are allowed to call it your home state and use the home state quota. You can get a certificate made at one of those places which does passports, pan cards and other things.
