what is double bond equivalence
Dear candidate
The Double Bond Equivalence(DBE) can be defined as the total number of unsaturation's present in the organic molecule and unsaturation is nothing but consisting a double bond or a cyclic or ring system. For example Benzene the number of double bonds in benzene is 3 and it has 1 ring which means 4DBE.
Hello,
DBE is the number of unsaturations present in an organic molecule .The term unsaturation means double bond or a ring system .The formula for DBE is :
DBE = C + 1 - H/2 + N/2 -X/2
where C is no. of carbon atoms , H is no. of Hydrogen atoms , N is no. of Nitrogen atoms and X is no. of Halogen atoms
