I will answer it in two parts

1)academic point of view.

2)carrier aspect.

1) No doubt in b tech evening one of the best faculties of the college will be taking your classes.

-if you really want to learn and have passion ,you will enjoy a lot.some teachers will connect with you instantly ,and treat you in a very respectful and friendly way.

-faculty will be keen to understand what is your job profile in the company and how do you perform the task (technical aspect).

you can avail all the facilities that a day student might get(provided YOU should have time)

Upto 3 rd semester it can be a bit tough,but after that you will enjoy a lot.

You will start getting more respect at your workplace, people will respect you for your hard work and dedication.

2)believe me it's a harsh truth but for the next 4 years your Carrier growth will totally stop(assuming you work in a private sector).

-you wouldn't be able to ask for hikes or promotion.

-depending upon your work profile the days will come where you will get screwed from both sides neither your professional life nor your student life will seem to work as per plan.its like having an extra martial affair, the moment you spend more time with the one the other will show you eyes.

and after going all the way through this hell, you will not get placement.

so you will be back to position zero after working like a donkey day Nd night.

There are some positive things as well.

-you will feel immensely proud after completing the b tech

-you will show off your DTU tag everywhere.

you will proudly update your resume

so the outline is:

Enroll for evening program only when:

-you have a passion for engineering (most of the people loose it after working in industry)

-you badly want a tag of DTU

-want to enjoy college life(,although you will feel out of place among day students).

-You are a govt employee and you have nothing else to do (lol)

Never join this course if

you think you will fight Tnp and get placements after 4 years

You will instantly get a promotion after b.tech in your existing company.

Everywhere your b.tech will be recognized (trust me almost all the PSU doesn't recognize these cources,and similarly good private companies and MNC will straight away neglect any such part time course)
