what is electrolysis and the Faraday's law of electrolysis?
Hey there,
Electrolysis is the process of decomposition of an electrolyte when electric current is passed through either it's aqueous solution or molten (fused) state.
Faraday's first law of electrolysis: the amount of chemical reaction which occurs at any electrode during electrolysis by a current is proportional to the quantity of electricity passed through the electrolyte.
m=Z*I*t
Here Z is electrochemical equivalent.
Faraday's second law of electrolysis: Amount of various substances liberated by the same quantity of electricity passed through the electrolytic solution is proportional to their chemical equivalent.
W1/E1=W2/E2
Hope it helps!
