Indian Institute of Technology Madras offers-
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech) and Dual Degree (five year integrated programme in B.Tech and M.Tech)
Admission to the B.Tech and Dual Degree course is done on the basis of scores in the JEE Advanced exam and admission to M.Tech programme is done on the basis of scores of GATE entrance exam.

Now, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level entrance exam and it is conducted for admission to M.Tech programmes. Scores of GATE exam are accepted for admission to Government as well as many private institutions.
Eligibility Criteria to appear for the GATE exam
Candidate should have completed Graduation in Engineering/Technology or Master’s Degree (M.Sc) in any relevant subject. Candidates in the final year of the qualifying exam can also apply for the same.
There is no minimum pass percentage in the qualifying examination to appear for the GATE exam.

GATE 2019 application process has been completed and the exam will be conducted on February 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2019 in online mode.
And, if you are seeking admission in the B.Tech or the Dual Degree programme, then admission is done on the basis of scores in the JEE Advanced exam.
The detailed admission process is as follows-
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted in two stages- JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
Candidates have to qualify the JEE Main entrance to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam.
JEE Main exam is conducted for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Since you wish to take admission in IIT Madras, you will have to qualify the JEE Main exam and then appear and qualify the JEE Advanced exam.
JEE Main 2019 exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year in January and April.
January exam is scheduled to be conducted from January 9 to January 12, 2019.
JEE Main April exam
The application process of JEE Main April exam will start from 8 February 2019 and the exam will be conducted from 6 April 2019 to 20 April 2019.
Eligibility Criteria to appear for JEE Main exam-
Candidate should have passed class 12th to be eligible to appear for the JEE Main exam. Candidates appearing in class 12th can also apply for the exam.
Also, it is mandatory to have studied 5 subjects in Class 12th or the qualifying exam. The subjects are
1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subject1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subject

As I have mentioned that JEE Main exam will be held two times a year, candidates can appear for both the exams.
You wish to take admission in the B.Tech programme or M.Tech programme? If B.tech programme in 2019, then I hope you must have applied for the JEE Main January exam and if not, you can appear for the April exam.

To get into IIT Madras with aerospace engineering you need to qualify JEE advanced with a good rank a student cannot directly appear for JEE advanced we need to qualify first JEE main and only those students who qualified JEE main only eligible to appear for JEE advanced and the JEE main exam will be conducted twice a year from this year onwards so the first session will be organised in the month of January and the second session will be organised in the month of April those who are willing to appear for the examination the best of the two normalised score will be counted for the rank calculation however if you did not filled JEE Main January form then I would request you to apply for JEE main April edition the registration process will commence from February 8 onwAEDs.
