Hello,
Equality of opportunity is a political ideal that is opposed to caste hierarchy but not to hierarchy per se. The background assumption is that a society contains a hierarchy of more and less desirable, superior and inferior positions. Or there may be several such hierarchies.
In short, Equality of opportunity refers to the fairness of processes through which individuals with different backgrounds or from different social groups reach particular outcomes, such as educational or occupational goals without any discrimination.
For Example :
Anybody can apply for any job and there'll be no specific background required. Or say anyone can come up with a startup whether you hold a PhD or you are a school dropout.Opportunity for every individual is equal irrespective of religion, colour, gender, education, etc.
Hope it Helps
Thank You !!!
