Extended round of certain examination can be of extending the dates of application forms/admissions dates. If the examination is extending or reopening the website for admission it can be called as extended round
.
If not, if the website is offering another counseling round for application forms it will be called as extended round/counseling.
.
In simple it's a chance for the students who didn't applied for the examination to apply for the examination
