As per your query, GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE exam is conducted on the behalf of the Department of Higher education , MHRD , Government of India, National Coordination Board (NCB-GATE). In order to appear for gate exam , the eligibility criteria is:
- Age limit
- Academic qualification
- Nationality
- Marks required and more
- The candidates should have passed or been in their final year or pre-final of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology(B.E , B.Tech) or post graduate (M.Sc) degree in any relevant science subject.
Gate exam is conducted in online mode ( Computer Based Test) . GATE exam scores are valid for three years only from the date of announcement of the result.

GATE refers to Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering. It is conducted by Indian Government. Although the exam stands tough, due to more competition, but the salary package is really good enough for an individual. Anyone graduated in B. E., B. Tech and Pharma D are eligible to give the exam.
