Hello aspirant,

Genetic Engineering is basically a part of modern genetics that is used at a global level for numerous purposes. It is a combination of various technologies and scientific concepts using which scientists can change the genomic data like DNA of a naturally occurring cell to make it commercially useful.

You can check the below article to know Eligibilty criteria, scope , fees, courses, subjects and other relevant information about genetic engineering here :

Hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well.

Genetic engineering is basically, recombination of genes to create something new like new organisms, products etc. In this desired gene is taken out from one and inserted at the desired place. It is a part of biotechnology.

I am giving you a brief of the steps used in genetic engineering.
1)Removal of desired gene using the help of molecular scissors ( Restriction enzyme)
2) Vector
3) Combining cut out Gene and vector
4) Adding it to the host
5) Making the product in bulk amounts

It is a very flourishing career option nowadays. After pursuing courses in genetic engineering, you can work in medical and pharmaceutical industries, research and development departments, agricultural sector, genetic engineering firms, chemical companies, etc.

If you are planning to study Genetic Engineering in India, then you must pass class 12th with PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology) as subjects. Furthermore, you will also have to clear some national /state/university level exams to pursue this course.

Some of the national level exams are :

JEE MAINS
JEE ADVANCED
VITEEE
GATE
SRMJEEE
BITSAT
