What is josaa?how to apply for it?how it helps us?can anyone please tell me
Hello,
JoSAA is Joint Seat Allocation Authority. This is the authority that is responsible for counselling of students for sdmission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The JoSAA Counselling considers JEE Advanced for IITs and JEE Mains for other institutes. This year's procedure is expected to start by second week of June.
The procedure involves registering for the JoSAA Counselling, choice filling where you select college and course as well as its arrangement based on preference and atlast locking of these choices.
There will be two rounds of mock allotment, where you get to know the colleges you may get based on your rank in JEE. There will be category-wise rank list for every candidates except General category. Admission occurs based on these rank lists. You can choose options like "float", "freeze", "sliding" during seat allotment.

Hope you are doing well. JoSAA is not any entrance exam. It is the acronym of "Joint Seat Allocation Authority". After you clear your JEE examination, this authority is responsible for distribution and allotment of seats to candidates. The option entry of different branches and colleges, allotment of seats to candidates according to the choices they have made and their merit, all responsibilities are managed by JoSAA. In simple terms, it is something connected with JEE examination but it is not an entrance test. I hope your doubt has been cleared after reading this answer.
All the best.
