What is known as solvent perturbation? And what is its significance?
Hello aspirant
The absorption of aromatic amino acids ( phenyaniline, tyrosine, and tryptophan ) depend on their molecular Environment. Alterations in the solvent can be used to change the Environment of those aromatic side chains in a folded protein that exposed to the solvent.
Significance - The solvent perturbation technique of difference spectroscopy has been used to study the interaction of an antibody synthetic polypeptide antibody with it's homologous antigen. Antibody was obtained from a sheep which had been immunized with the random polymer .
