How is the assistant professor selection process carried out? Check out the below points to know -
1. According to the most recent UGC Guidelines for an Assistant Professor, you must submit your biographical information in the format required by the relevant university, along with copies of any noteworthy publications, in order to be considered.
2. In accordance with the UGC New Guidelines for Ph.D. 2022, the institutions publish the required notification of the Ph.D. admissions process.
The admissions process entails a number of procedures, including an admissions test, an interview, the verification of documents, etc.
3. No university, institution, or college may offer PhD programmes via distance education, according to new UGC regulations. However, if institutes adhere to the UGC PhD Regulations 2022, part-time PhD will be permitted.
Note: Starting in 2022, a PhD will be a prerequisite for becoming an assistant professor at a university, according to the draught policy of the new UGC Regulations.
However, persons with a Ph.D. from a university that is ranked inside the top 500 globally by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), or Academic Ranking of World Universities would not need to complete the NET (ARWU).
All the best.
