JEE or Joint Engineering Entrance examination is a national level engineering examination conducted for admissions into various engineering colleges of out country.

It essentially has 2 stages, the first being JEE MAIN, through which admissions are conducted into various NITs, IIITs and the like.

A candidate becomes eligible for appearing for the second semester age of examination after he/she clears the cutoff for first stage, this stage is JEE ADVANCED, the merit list of which is considered for conducting admissions into IITs across the nation.

These exams essentially consist of objective based questions each from maths, Physics and chemistry.

Coming to medical entrance, for which we have a similar national level examination called NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This examination is conducted for admissions into various government medical colleges across the nation, barring AIIMS and JIPMER who conduct their own medicine entrance. This is a single stage examination which is objective based and questions are essentially asked from biology, physics and Chemistry.

A merit list is prepared on an All India Rank basis and the students who qualify for the All 15% quota seats then appear for an online counselling procedure for seat allotment.
