What is MBA Biotechnology? I'm in 11th grade Maharashtra state board, what are the procedures that I must follow so that I can do that particular course? Is MBA Biotech or MSc Biotech better?
So, basically what you are saying is that you are interested in Biotechnology field. Since you are in class 11, i am assuming you already have taken Science stream with Biology.
Now, you have several options after 12th. Either you can choose science background or medical.
With science, you can pursue B.Tech in Biotechnology and with medical you can do B.Sc in biotechnology.
B.Tech degree in Biotechnology will help you to learn about the Biological Sciences as well as the Engineering aspect of Biotechnology.
While, B.Sc degree in Biotechnology focuses on the Biological aspect of the Biotechnology part.
If you want to do B.tech the JEE mains and advance are the best options and for medical you can appear in the following exams.
- AIIMS Biotechnology Entrance Test
- JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination
- DU (University of Delhi) Biotechnology Entrance Examination
Now, after completing any of these Bachelor's courses, you will have an option to go for Masters degree where you will have options of MBA and M.Sc.
MBA Biotechnology is a 2-year post-graduation course in Biotechnology which will help you in learning the fundamentals of business and biotechnology.
The MBA in biotechnology program helps in understanding the combination of managerial as well as medical framework that is used for dealing medical sector as a dynamic field.
If you want jobs in MNCs then you can go for MBA in Biotechnology.
And if you are interested in going for research or may be teaching then takin M.Sc in Biotechnology will be the right option.
I hope this helps.
Hi Anand!
MBA Biotechnology and M.Sc. Biotechnology has its own pros and cons but both are growing fields of opportunity! Before joining any of the Courses, you must complete your Undergraduate in fields related to this. For MBA Biotechnology you must have studied any Science, Medicine or Engineering. For M.Sc. Biotechnology you must have studied B.Sc. in either Biotechnology, Biology, Food Science, etc,. You must have scored 60% aggregate in UG for both the Courses. Some Colleges will require you to undergo Entrance Exams for Admission! So after completing 12th, decide on your UG and then you can concentrate on PG!
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
