Hello,

Open category means anyone can apply for that. Wherever there is reservation, they keep some seats for the reserved category like SC/ST/OBC etc. and some are kept for open category means anyone can apply for that either General or SC/ST/OBC etc.

General Class/General Category/Open Category is a term used in India to designate castes whose members are on mean ahead of other Indians economically and culturally.

Thank you.

Hello aspirant,

>>>General Category or Open Category is a category in which people other than OBC, ST, SC, etc are considered.

>>>If your Caste falls under General Category for example Brahmins, Reddy's, Kamma, Gomati baniya, Kapu, etc.

>>The Caste list of Central and State Government differs as each State have different Caste categories.

>>>In case seat allotment or job recruitment Caste is necessary in most of the cases and can get reservation if you belong to Reservation Category.

>>>General Category candidates can get Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate if they are eligible for it.

I hope this information was helpful to you.

Best of Luck!!
