Hello,

Matrices are a collection of numbers arranged into a fixed number of rows and columns.Usually the numbers are real numbers.

Whereas, rank of a matrix is defined as the maximum number of linearly dependent column vectors in the matrix or maximum number of linearly dependent row vectors.

I hope this was useful.

Hi Duga,

Matrix (plural:matrices) refers to an ordered rectangular arrangement of numbers which are either real or complex or functions. We enclose Matrix by [ ] or ( ).

Rank of a matrix is defined as the maximum number of linearly independent column vectors in the matrix or the maximum number of linearly independent row vectors in the matrix.
