Hello Roflguy,

Pancreas divisum is a common congenital anomaly (an anomaly that is present at birth) of the pancreatic duct(s).

The pancreas is a deep-seated organ located behind the stomach.

One of its functions is to produce enzymes that are important for the digestion of food in the intestine.

The digestive enzymes, in the form of digestive juice, drain from the pancreas via the pancreatic duct into the duodenum (the uppermost portion of the small intestine) where they aid in digesting food.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU

GOOD LUCK!

Hello ,

Pancreatic Divisum : It is the most common anomaly of pancreatic development documented clinically.

The ducts of pancreas are not fused to form a full pancreas, but instead it remains as a distinct dorsal and ventral duct. Without proper fusion of both ducts the majority of the pancreas drainage is mainly through the accessory papilla.

Normally pancreas develops from a ventral bud and a dorsal bud that later fuse to form the definitive pancreas.

Hope this helps
