Hey,

The reduced form of the sclerenchyma cells in plants which have highly thickened and lingified cell walls forming small bundles of layers of tissue which are durable. Numerous sclereids form the cores of apples and even produce the gritty texture of pears and guavas.

Hello ,

Sclereids is basically a form of sclerenchymatous tissue cells. They have very thick , lignified cellular walls that make them very durable and resistant.. The presence of numerous sclereids form the apple core and produce gritty texture of guavas.
