Preparatory rank list means you are not qualified. But in case there are vacancy in seats of institutes, this preparatory rank list will be used to fill it. It exist for candidates who belong to reservation category. Considering the rank list the candidates will be admitted to attend a preparatory course for one year. After one year you will be admitted to first year of the undergraduate course in the same institute.
